Uluslararası sermaye ve hükümetleri bundan yaklaşık 20 yıl önce, demagojik "küreselleşme" sloganı ile yeni bir saldırı başlattı. Bu saldırı ile gerçekte kapitalist sömürü sistemi dünya çapında güçlendirilmek isteniyordu. Özelleştirmeden esnekleştirmeye, çalışma saatlerinin ve iş hayatının uzatılmasından taşeronlaştırmaya kadar geniş bir alanı kapsayan ekonomik, sosyal ve son dönemde artan oranda da demokratik hak ve özgürlüklere dönük bu saldırıların, işçi ve sendikal hareketçe esasta geri püskürtülememiş olması günümüz emek dünyasının hala acı bir gerçekliğidir. Tek tek ülke, işkolları ve sendikaları arasında farklılıklar bulunmakla birlikte, uluslararası işçi ve sendikal hareket bugün sermayenin bu saldırısını topyekün püskürtebilecek durumda da değil henüz.

Il capitale internazionale ed i suoi governi hanno lanciato da circa 20 anni un assalto di vaste proporzioni in tutto il mondo, assieme alla demagogica propaganda della “globalizzazione”. L’assalto sta coprendo un’ampia area economica e sociale, dalla privatizzazione al lavoro flessibile, dall’incremento degli orari e della vita lavorativa ai subappalti e, più recentemente, anche contro i diritti e le libertà democratiche. E’ una triste realtà del mondo del lavoro di oggi che questi assalti non si sono stati ancora respinti dal movimento operaio e sindacale. Al di là delle differenze tra paesi, settori e sindacati, quello che caratterizza la situazione attuale del movimento sindacale ed operaio internazionale è la debolezza, l’instabilità, l’essere frammentato, la perdita di potere, l’essere disorganizzato e sfiduciato.

It Is Time We Met Again

Approximately 20 years ago, in order to be able to buttress the exploitative capitalist system; international capital and their respective governments, via making use of the demagogy of "globalisation", have unleashed a worldwide assault. The assault embodies wide-ranging socio-economic attacks: from privatisation to flexible work, from extending the working hours and working life to subcontracting, and more recently repelling democratic rights and liberties. An unpleasant fact vis-à-vis the contemporary labour movement is that it is yet to organise or stage a muscular struggle to defeat these attacks. Although it goes without saying that there are certain differences among countries, sectors and trade unions. Weaknesses, instability, being fragmented, loss of power, being unorganised and distrust; is what characterises the general situation of the international workers' and trade union movement.
